[Mrrrgh. If it was anyone but Cloud (or Aerith) he might not have picked up. He's halfway expecting Cloud to be mad so his relic's a little bit away from his ear.]

[If Zack's expecting a shouting match, at least he can be reassured he won't get that]

[Nice, yet worrisome. Shouting would probably be easier.]

I didn't say anything to anybody. Didn't really want to talk about it yet. [Or. Ever? He's not sure.] Does it even count if it was so temporary?

[moseyin]

You got hurt. Of course it counts. [It doesn't matter if he was hurt a little, if he was hurt a lot. If he remembers it, if he doesn't; this is something Cloud needs to know.] Was Aerith with you?

[zacrifice]

[He exhales at the first, a noise that is neither agreement or disagreement. He did get hurt. But he also did get better.]

She was at first. We were walking back from the parade, and it got dark before we could make it back. Part of the hunt chased us. I led them away from her so she could reach the cottage, but I couldn't make it back. [A pause, and then,] You were right about the arrows.

I should've gone with you guys.

[zacrifice]

Don't start with that. We're not always gonna be joined at the hip as a 'just in case'.

[moseyin]

...I wanna do the Bond thing with you guys.

[zacrifice]

[Not... what he'd expected.]

The Bond thing. Familiar bond or whatever it's called; Aerith and I talked about it before, and I read up on it.

I'm a Familiar, so I can bond to both of you guys. You can sometimes get powers and other stuff by doing it, and maybe one of those powers can help you two if you're ever in trouble.

[zacrifice]

I thought you hated Thirteen and all the Familiar stuff.

[moseyin]

I do hate it, but it's not going away and neither are we. If there's any two people here that I trust and wanna take this risk with, it's you two.

[zacrifice]

[Honestly? Zack doesn't need much convincing. It's a valid argument, and the chance to make all of them safer sounds like a damn good idea.]

Uh...kind of. I read it...a while ago. I dunno, I'd have to go check it out again. [Cloud's not really much of a reader. Or a rememberer.] But it's something easy, I know. Like an oath.
